The Loose Canon is a blog about speculative fiction theory (as in literary theory) and analysis (as in data analysis). Along the way, I will also be posting reviews of some of the science fiction and fantasy books I read. The name is not a typo, by the way. It refers to a literary canon and not the weapon that is spelled with two n’s.
The Loose Canon launched in March 2016, and is edited and maintained by Nathaniel Givens.
The background image for this site is Steampunk City by illustration and concept artist Tyler Edlin. Edlin is a fantastic artist, and you should check out both his personal website and also his gallery at Concept Art World. The image is used with permission.
The Loose Canon is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. If you click one of the Amazon ads and then purchase anything, then The Loose Canon gets a small percentage: usually between 4% and 6%. (You can find more details about how the program works here.)
